Dec 06, 2020

New York, New York – Many significant events have occurred in 2020 which have the reggae and dancehall community wondering what next is in store, and the Sikario Riddim is a manifestation of the greatness that is to come. The production is already a certifiable gold-winner with some of the leading hitmakers in Jamaica’s modern musical landscape, making a global impact ahead of its official release slated for November 27, by bringing the artistry of a wide scope of personalities and diverse vocal abilities.

The Sikario Riddim is a collaborative effort between renowned event promoter Romaine ‘Luigi’ Brown of Portmore Society and Gran One Muzik which is poised to garner huge streaming success as the compilation reaches another milestone in taking culture to a copious audiences. It has been a long time coming for the production, as the multifaceted entrepreneur continues to leverage his event production success both locally and internationally into music production.

With clean and explicit versions, the 10-track rhythm that many eager music lovers are counting down the days to its official release, transforms into a total of 17 exclusive productions. It has received rave reviews from fans that received a sneak earful of a few of the tracks which will be distributed by 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution, Inc. All the entertainer features, send diverse messages that encapsulate the need to persevere in hard times, while offering their passion, fire, and masterful expression to the percolating Sikario Riddim.

Billboard-charting sensation Popcaan leads the pack of musical lions on the Sikario Riddim, as he adds to a roaring collaboration with one of the lyrically-cunning cubs who goes by the name Frahcess One, of his Unruly collective. Both acts flow over the unusual contrapuntal melodies in the track titled ‘Brawlin’; where the protégé shows that he has not only been taken lessons from the “Unruly Boss” but knows how to apply them.

Munga Honorable and Teejay, two completely different recording artistes; the former, a veteran whose distinctive style and sound is yet to be mastered by any other within the music industry and the other, a fast-moving dancehall rocket actually merge to create a pyrotechnic piece on the rhythm. The track titled ‘Mind Pon Di Millions’ boosts listeners to think outside the box, to rise above the idea of making and spending millions and more about maintaining a standard that sees them being worth millions – an ode remaining positive in adverse times.

Track after track, the moods intensifies. ‘Same As Yuh Say’ by Dane Ray, the producer-turned-recording artiste who earned notoriety for his affiliation with 2019 Grammy Award-winner Koffee and the record breaking single ‘Lockdown’, keeps the listener intent on hearing more of what this lyrical tempest will stir up.

Seasoned reggae-dancehall acts Wasp, Teflon and Ratigan, also add sounds that are reminiscent to the earlier sounds of the popular genres in each of their tracks while individually demonstrating they have a strong handle on the modern elements of the rhythm.

Made and presented in the traditional style of the Jamaican studio rhythm ethos, the Sikario Riddim has all the markings of a future classic sound and by right, is ornamented with the newest, brightest and colourful millennials, namely, Kyodi, Natural Flamez, Deyes and Thesarus. The messages of each track are weighted in survival and the importance of fighting for what you want in life. Added to that, transition from artiste to artiste, featured on the compilation, is seamless and balanced.
