About

In 2015 Neeqah’s career in music officially began. She recorded her first single, ‘Mr Lowkey’ at Quantanium Records in Spanish Town. The song soon gathered local traction and to date independently has grossed over 110k plays. The following year she recorded, ‘Good Friend’, which hit the island’s radar and became a local anthem; ensuring her popularity across the Caribbean and throughout pockets of the greater Jamaican diaspora. In 2018 she released her debut eight track album, ‘Aura’, a compilation of works which penetrated the popular cultural trends of societal issues within Jamaica, focused mainly around intimacy. Produced by Quantanium Records, “Bad Habits” the title track has amassed over 150k views.
The fall of 2018, saw Neeqah open-up for Tanya Stephens at the “all-female lineup” show, ‘Dovey Magnum and Friends’ in Kingston, Jamaica. This monumental break set the pace for her latest release, Ms. Melanin. The remix for this empowering black, female anthem dropped in 2019 and featured chart-topping Dancehall artiste Charly Black. The video has since created international appeal, with the song premiered on Ras Kwame’s ‘The Reggae Recipe’ show on Capital Xtra in the UK, Winford Williams’ Onstage TV on CVM.
Neeqah is fully focused on building her craft, “My journey is not smooth sailing but I still give thanks for the experience and knowledge I have gained over the past few years as an artist
